Looks like a January 2012 trip to the Finger Lakes in NY state is leading to an early summer of love of NY state Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Rkatsiteli. I tend to be a seasonal wine drinker (more reds in winter, more whites and my favorite dry rosés in summer) so we’re chilling the wonderful whites I purchased way back in January and enjoying them now.

This Glenora Wine Cellars 2010 Gewürztraminer has a lovely aromatic nose, a bit of acidity, with slight spice and sweetness in the finish. We paired it with New England-style shrimp rolls, potato salad and a spicy cole slaw. Memorial Day weekend perfection.

Vintage: 2010

Varietal: Gewürztraminer

Appellation: Finger Lakes

Alcohol: 11%

I love your new blog. I also love the Finger Lakes- their white wines are awesome- although it’s been years since I’ve been up there :)
